Irene Barnes as a nurse, educator, author and family member, has focused on understanding and providing care for people with dementia.
It is only recently with the explosion of information about how our brain functions that we can understand why certain of trial and error approaches worked or didn’t work as we tried to care for people with dementia.
It is my hope by sharing my writings and stories that others will gain more insight into the world of a person with dementia and better understand the meanings for their behaviours. Feel free to use the tips and suggestions and know that those who care for people with dementia can’t help but learn about themselves.
